I bought this book because I have a strong fondness for furry feline friends, and was drawn to the idea of police cats doing their own investigative work. The lead characters, Willow and Nat, are typical cats, lounging around all day pretending they're not paying any attention to their humans when in actuality they're very much aware. There are peripheral cats, like alley cats Bella and Chester who add additional interest and provide Nat and Willow with additional information. I have a tom very much like Chester, not a Persian, but definitely not a cat who minds getting his paws dirty. This story is what I would call "light reading". It chucks along at a steady pace as the cats listen in on interrogations and begin to piece together the facts in their own minds. If you're a cat fancier, you'll enjoy this book. For myself, I'm looking forward to another installment.Product details

The book starts off with intriguing account of two felines from different backgrounds. I could not stop reading this book. I am going to read the other books Nancy Davis wrote in this series.
I like this because the cats are the main characters and they talk. But, like the Vanessa Abbot series by the same author it is a bit childish. Will continue to read them and support the author though because they are fun reads.
I loved the cats in this book. I really get a kick out of cat detective books with cats that actually talk to each other. I wish they could really talk lol!! Looking forward to reading the rest of this series!! Me. Davis I hope you write more books for this series!! Thank you!!
Always the little extra surprise. the little extra snap that I don't expect. That is why I continue to read Davis' cat books. Good, clean mysteries with pinches of spice in just the right places.
If you like cats/animals, you will love this book. Some people think that animals don't understand what we are saying but I know that they do. I even tried spelling things and my dog knew exactly what I was spelling. I love reading about animals so I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Who killed the bakery owner? While Naya and Carl (cops) are doing their investigation of the crime scene, Nat takes Willow out for her first murder mystery. They talk with other cats in the area, do some prowling around, and put the clues together to solve the case. I love that the cats can talk to each other and am looking forward to more books by this author. I'm hooked!
I've read the three books in the Cats on the prowl series and i enjoyed them all! i am a long time cat lover and i have no doubt they actually speak to each other, perhaps through telepathy. i know they can scheme and commit offences, so solving crimes should be easy. i think you too will want to welcome these felines into your home.
